Just a view from the resort. |

Another view from the resort, this one portraying a different mountain. |
Colorado was beautiful. I mean hands down, if I had to go somewhere cold, Colorado is the place to do. Not Denver though. Denver is nothing but dirt and factories. The Rockies is where ya gotta go. It'll take a little drive. We drove 2 hours to get to the resort, but it was worth it. Being so close to so many ski resorts, it was easy for us to catch a shuttle bus or gondola ride and be at the top.
Not even 20 minutes outside of Denver though and you are riding in the clouds to get where you are going. It was awesome. And once you're through you look behind you and all you can see is the white bubbly, pillowy looking mass.
Then you just keep on driving in amazement. There were plenty of resorts and mountains closer to Denver to go to, but this one in its quaint little town was perfect. I wouldn't have done it any differently.
The resort we stayed at was eight thousand something feet elevation. When we went to the ski resorts though we were well over fourteen thousand elevation. Breathing wasn't as difficult as some said it was going to be. I mean, I went running and I was labored really quickly, but it wasn't something that I couldn't handle, just something that I had to get used to. When I wasn't active, I was just fine.
It did end up snowing some as you can see in the pics, but they know how to handle it over there. If we had gotten that much snow here in RVA, schools would've been closed for a month. Temp was brisk but nothing I would've imagined being in Colorado or at such high elevation. 30's and 40s during the day.
The quaintness of the town. I cant even.

You can hardly see it, but this is when we took off. The mountains are in the background peeking through. |
Everything was a little expensive, but nothing that I wouldn't expect for the tourist time of year. We had great food, great company, great time. If anyone ever wanted to go, I would recommend these places...
Falcon Point Resort
- where we stayed. Hot tub while it snowed, free breakfast, free wi-fi, walking distance to anything you need
Route 6 Café and Lounge
-last night of our stay we went here for a beer. Great live band and awesome dancing from the locals. Cheap food and beer that's quality
Bob's Place
-if you want to catch a game, go here. There's probably 40 screens all around the bar. Sitting is family style, so you'll meet some new people
Pazzo's Pizzeria
-awesome pizza. The best pizza I've had in a while and I like me some pizza. We ordered take out for the room and they delivered.
