Reading Menu and Whatnot

All right so what have I read since last week...

Not much.  I finished the "Not Quite" series.  Like I mentioned last week, I enjoyed them, but it was a super easy, fun read.  Nothing to make me think or nothing to make me miss it when the books ended.

But I did some traveling this weekend and while en route on the plane I decided to watch some movies.  One of them was August: Osage County and Divergent.  August on the way there, Divergent on the way home.  August I couldve lived without seeing, ever.  But Divergent...  Divergent I watched twice because the flight was so bumpy and awful I felt like I needed something to occupy my mind (pretty much to keep me sane and without tears).

I was adamant about not reading the series that everyone was talking about.  I read the Harry Potter series and I read the Twilight series, and though I liked both, I didnt want another book series passion just yet.  I liked Twilight, but I think the movies ruined it for me.  Now I see the characters in my mind of those who I've seen in the movies, and lets be honest, whoever cast Kristen Stewart as Bella should have been fired immediately.  I dont see the characters that I had in my mind while reading the books, and for me that sucks.  But Harry Potter, I could stay at home all day and watch the movies and read the books.  They are things that I want to share with Willow, presence permitted or with kids that are in the family whether they be mine (heaven forbid) or Travs (lately thats a scarier thought).  I bring HP to my daily life with thoughts, quotes, images from both the movies and the books.

I havent read The Hunger Games series and I havent read The Divergent series.  I've watched both first movies and THG I've no desire to start reading even after the movie.  But Divergent, I picked up immediately.  I couldnt wait to see the characters in my mind and read what the story was behind the movie.  I want to see how it all plays out in the end.  So last night, when I was climbing into bed, I opened up book one on my kindle and read until I fell asleep.

That took about two minutes because I was exhausted from flying the red eye and family time and all that.  So needless to say I didnt get very far into it, and will have more on the series next week.
