My boss and I have this love-love to hate kind of relationship. We pick on each other. He makes me cry, then he apologies. I get him lunch, he pays for mine in return. I keep him in line (sort of) and he teaches me so so so much.
Technically, I have three bosses because they all own the company, but in reality, only one makes all the decisions. And he's THE BEST!
Lately, our schemes have been on point. Our days have been filled with laughter (most at the expense of one another). AND we've been extremely productive (or he has, for reasons to be told at a later date).
But back to our schemes...
Last week he asked me for lunch. His usual go to from the Mexican restaurant next door. Chicken fajitas, rice, no beans, extra hot sauce. Never changes. I wait 10 minutes like always and tell him I'm going to pick up the food. He knows I am going. I walk out the back door and immediately come back in and tell him that I cannot get the food he needs to do it. He doesn't question me, doesn't say "what happened? You just said..." he just stands up and walks out the door. Walking off the curb into the lot he sees it. The very thing that made me immediately walk back inside.
Across from our office there are houses. People live in them, tend to them, and walk around the neighborhood all the time. Isn't unusual. But this time...
This time the woman across the street was mowing the lawn. She was mowing the lawn in her underwear. Granny panties up to her ribcage, hot pink bra. Walking around the yard with the push mower probably thinking nothing of it. I shit you not.
I'm waiting by the door to see what he does. He looks up, sees her, turns around and walks back in the door. Looks at me and says "nope, not going". His face though... PRICELESS!
Today he thought twice about it before I told him I couldn't get lunch. Didn't want to subject himself to such nonsense.
